Time to Begin the Financial Aid Process

Jackson, Tenn., Jan. 20, 2010:

It is now time to begin the financial aid process for the upcoming school year. Please follow the recommendations below by the indicated dates in order to maximize your financial aid options at Lambuth University.

STEP 1: As soon as possible, go to www.fafsa.ed.gov, and file your 2010-11 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on the web. Be sure to input Lambuth's code, 003498, so that we receive your information. LAMBUTH'S PRIORITY DEADLINE FOR FILING THE FASFA IS FEB. 15, 2010. (Tennessee residents should file the FAFSA prior to Feb. 1, if at all possible.)

STEP 2: Sign the FAFSA on the Web electronically with your PIN#. If you do not have your PIN#, you will be able to request your PIN# at the signature section of the FAFSA on the web.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Don't wait to file your 2010-11 FAFSA until after you've filed your 2009 Tax Return. In fact, if you will not file your return until after 2/15/10, we recommend that you indicate and use estimated information so that you can file your FAFSA by the priority deadline. You will later update your FAFSA information online after filing your Tax Return.
