Communications
Lambuth's communications major offers three concentrations as a student is working toward the Bachelor of Arts degree: speech/communications, media and film studies, and public relations. A communications major at Lambuth can study public speaking or organizational communications; or, a career in radio or television might be more suitable, especially with our film and digital video editing capabilities. One class even produces radio dramas for the Lambuth Radio Theatre, which are broadcast locally on the radio and worldwide on the Internet. Students with great people skills or students who get excited about the possibility of writing for newspaper should take advantage of the public relations concentration, which has become the largest and most popular concentration in communication.
All communication majors are required to take a student internship to graduate. They are offered in radio, television and public relations. The student goes into the field to work with professionals on-site at stations and businesses for 10 hours a week during the Fall or Spring semester. A major may do two different internships.
